Love Bears All Things

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our mission here at EMC: to save the lives of the innocent unborn. However, sometimes I think we forget that in order to fulfill this mission we must love the girls that walk into our doors. Many of them come from broken homes, some don’t even have a home, and yet in their most vulnerable moment we have the honor and privilege to serve, guide, and love them. Sometimes in a last ditch effort to keep a girl from walking out we forget that love is patient and kind. These girls come from the worst neighborhoods in New York City and even though they act tough what they’re really begging for on the inside is for someone to reach out to them with gentleness. We are not here to judge them like many of the girls think. We don’t sit there and look at them thinking they are sinners or that God does not love them. We do not look at a girl and see how broken she is because through us God picks up the pieces and puts her back together again. We look at these girls and see how strong they are for surviving in a world where society says they won’t. We look at these girls and see how beautiful they are when the men in their lives say they aren’t. And we look at these girls and see endless possibilities even though they can’t. Our love for these girls believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all the things our girls think they can't.

Sounds like you are having an amazing internship. You and all of the girls are in our prayers, and keep up the good work!
