All you need is love

Something that i have noticed a lot in counseling the women in the centers is that they are in need of love more than anything else.

When back at home in the midwest, I thought the most important thing you could ever offer a girl when pregnant was material things. Diapers, Cribs, Food, these were the things that in my mind were important.

In New York, the girls come in saying they can't afford a baby. They talk about superficial things at first, but when you finally dig deeply enough you get to the truth.

The truth is that they will be have to make sacrifices but they know they will be able to make it financially. They are scared of doing it alone.

They are afraid that the dad won't be there, that they will be alone with this child.

This is why the most valuable thing we offer isn't the diapers, its our complete love and hearts.

The diapers will eventually run out. Any material thing we would offer will be gone in a short time. But, our love is endless and will always make a difference in these girls lives.
