Last Tuesday i got my first chance to speak with women alone. I was sent to the queens office with marina. It was our first time there and we couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous. However, that feeling disappeared as soon as the first woman came in to the office. We suddenly felt very excited and hoped for the best. I had no idea what her situation was or what we were going to say to her but I prayed to the Holy Spirit asking for help and inspiration. Like Linda says, we don’t save the babies, god saves them and the mother comes first. I believe that in this internship we are Gods instruments and are here to get across his message to other people. Because of this, God helps us while counseling the moms. I don’t think I could ever have spoken with true confidence to them if it wasn’t for Gods help.
At the end of the day, four moms had come to see us, two bringing their babies fathers and two alone. We had one turn around which was the best news possible, another was undecided, another one wanted to parent and the last one took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Overall, I enjoyed my experience in Queens and am grateful to Marina for helping me and to God above all
