Some days I go to work and feel like I never have a break from one sad story, to the next heart break, to the next tragic situation. But every once in a while a woman will come in just to say hello and thank one of the directors for all their love and support, or to give us an update on how she and her baby are doing. The women who make these visits feel like angels sent from God. They are always so encouraging and uplifting for my spirit.
Stephanie* came in a few weeks ago for one such visit. She is expecting her second child and brought her little son with her. We had a wonderful time talking to her expectant child through the sonogram, playing with her son, laughing, and fellowship. All of this is not at to say that Stephanie's life is easy or that she never faces difficult circumstances. In fact, it is quite the opposite. But she has joy through it all; joy she would not have if she had decided not to keep her child, joy she never would have been able to share with us, joy that only a child can bring!
