Let's Get Personal

During the two week trip we also went to Alabama for the Freedom Ride. Freedom Ride started from Birmingham, Alabama and ended in Atlanta, GA. The purpose of it was to make people more aware of the pro life movement. We were one of the the first vehicles to follow the Freedom Ride bus.

The morning before we left, a bunch of pro-lifers including us went to stand in front of Parenthood to talk to women who wanted to go in for abortion but the building was actually closed for repairs. Alveda King, Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece, spoke about why she supported the pro life movement and what we could do to help it. Other public figures spoke as well. Four women told their own personal stories about why they regretted having an abortion and a man also talked about losing his fatherhood and how he felt when his girlfriend at the time had an abortion. It was a very powerful ceremony. Hearing their own personal stories inspired me to work harder to save more innocent babies' lives.
