Abortion Hurts Women

Today, I spent the day on the sidewalks outside of a few different abortion clinics in Queens. One of which was the cause of the death of Alexandra Nuñez in January (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/2010/01/27/2010-01-27_queens_clinic_probed_after_abortion_death.html). We were there passing out brochures, set up with the television, talking to people and informing them about abortion when a woman walked up to Jowel and, in Spanish, says, "A women died in there!"

The pro-choicers are our main target, but sometimes it's nice to run into an ally. This woman was more than happy to tell us what happened. She says the whole neighborhood knows about it and is shocked and angry. The clinic doesn't get hardly any business anymore. According to her, they took Alexandra to the hospital without even notifying her boyfriend who was in the waiting room. He didn't know anything was wrong until after she had died at the hospital.

Now, if this is true, I can't tell you. But I can tell you one thing: The neighborhood is talking!

Don't be afraid to talk about abortion. With your friends, with your little sister, with your classmates. We need to talk! Spread the word! Abortion doesn't only kill babies. It kills mothers, too!
