Hello,
This has been a hard week. Since I am part of the A team I am being a sidewalk counselor in Doctor
Emily's and Planned Parenthood.
Basically what we do is to be in strategic spots near the abortion clinic, all the team is spread, paying
attention that no woman goes inside without talking to us.
We offer them the last chance to save their babies, we stop them and ask them if they have an
appointment in the clinic, we give them information and if we are lucky we are able to get into a
conversation with them, and have them get a free sonogram in the mobile unit.
What really happens, is that many time when we ask them if they have an appointment they lie, and say
no because they already know what we are going to tell them, and the truth is sometimes hard to listen.
Others are angry with you and shout: "don't talk to me, get away!"
So afterward is hard to feel very good. On the other hand, when one girl stops and understands what
we are telling her, and decides to have a sonogram and keep the baby, that turn around is for me three
times more valuable than one we could get in the office, and it makes all the bad faces and tiredness
worthy.
