I counseled a woman on Saturday who told me that being pregnant right now is just very bad timing because she is in the process of getting her green card, and so she has to be traveling a lot in the next year. However, we watched Choice Blues and talked about all the serious complications that can result from an abortion, and she was starting to have misgivings. She was not as confident in her need for an abortion as she was when she arrived at the center. Since Rosanna was there, she had an ultrasound, and when she saw the tiny little guy inside her, and heard his heartbeat she really started tearing up. As she sat on the table and really truly thought about the gravity of her decision, she couldn't stop crying. For several minutes she just sat there; several times she mentioned the heartbeat, but still mentioned that it was bad timing. She also told us that her boyfriend really wants to keep the baby, so she wanted to talk to him more. Rosanna told her, "You really have to think hard about this, because whatever you decide is going to change your relationship with him forever. If you really love each other, you have to make sure that change is for the better."
