Dr. Emily's

This past Saturday I spent my morning outside of the abortion clinic, Dr. Emily’s. It was my first time outside of the clinic and I honestly had no clue what I was about to experience. I was a bit apprehensive to approach the girls walking in for an abortion because it’s a completely different atmosphere than the counseling I am used to. Normally I speak with girls one-on-one in a safe environment. At Dr. Emily’s however, the moment you approach a girl, she is being pulled and ushered away by the clinic’s security. I was able to speak with one girl who was leaving the clinic alone after her abortion. She was walking by herself and as soon as I approached her she started hysterically crying. It was heartbreaking to see how traumatized she clearly was. After speaking and trying to console her for a few minutes, I gave her information on free counseling/healing which she gratefully accepted. It was devastating to see the immediate aftermath of an abortion and made the work we do here that much more real.
