Fight The Good Fight!

A woman came in today who wanted an abortion.  Sushanna counseled her.  Her boyfriend sat in the waiting room.  He looked up at me with tortured eyes and said "I think life is a gift.  Just because our relationship has been a little rocky lately doesn't mean our baby should die."  What to say?  The same inadequate words I always say.  "I am so sorry.  Pray.  Keep praying for her."

Abortion is the ugliest evil of our society.  It harms the baby, the mother, the father, the siblings...In order for our world to heal, in order for it to get any better, this holocaust must end.   How will such evil end?  With prayer, fasting and action!  As humans we must make an active defense for the dignity of all human life.  Life begins at conception and this is also where we must begin any fight in the service of the well being and protection of our brothers and sisters in Christ.  No matter from what circumstances they were conceived, by who or how.  Life is Life and in order to live with the dignity and respect we require in our own lives we must ipso facto acknowledge and protect the dignity of all human beings from the moment  it begins.

"Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power.   Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.  For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens.  Therefore, put on the armor of God, that you may be able to resist on the evil day and, having done everything, to hold your ground.   So stand fast with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate  and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances, hold faith as a shield, to quench all [the] flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."  - Ephesians 6:10-17
