What's a world youth day?

The world youth day was an event founded by the Pope John Paul II . A world youth day is a religious and cultural event organizes with a main objective: meet catholic youth from the entire world.

Is the most international and numerous event that the Catholic Church organizes in the world. The Pope preside this event each three years. This new edition has been in Madrid since the 11^th until yesterday!

Sincerely I would like to be there last week, I went to Colonia six years ago and it was awesome! Was a meeting point for the youth from all the parts of the world. In this event the Pope meet with the future society of our world, the Pope tries to give hope and courage to be a catholic in a relativistic and individualistic society. This event is an opportunity to meet people from the entire world and to share experiences also is a big relief to continue being a Good witness!!

Learn from the others

Last week I made a post about the abortion in Spain and the importance of give voice to all the mothers that suffer their decision alone. In this post I want to remark the important point of counselling. During this month helping in EMC offices I learned the important meaning of listen somebody. It' s seems a common action that we practice everyday with people around us. But how it changes this "ordinary" thing in an EMC office, women that sometimes they are alone, or they don' t have any support of their relatives o families. How important is to be a sensitive person, and try to think how I could feel if I were in their situations. At the begining you think: how I'm going to do it? This sensation is very common, at the begining and everyday! But we are very lucky we have the opportunite to work with pepole around as that have a lot of experience and they can show as ,with their examples, how we can be good counselers. Also this year we are a big group of interns, each of us give a different manner of helping those mothers, one use his big sense of humor, other his/her sensitive. Every person that we form EMC give us the opportunite to help from his/her example.

Abortion in Spain

In Spain Since 1985 date that the abortion was legalized, this crime has been increase every day.

The quantities are surprising. In our country in 1985 only 9 mothers decided to abort her baby in 1990 the quantity increase in a 21’86 %, in 1996 the abortions that were done were 51.000, in 2000 were 617536, in 2003 it increase a 3’45% more and in the 2007 the quantity was 1.020.952 abortions.

Nowadays the situation in Spain is not better, in Spain as here in America this is a hide decision that most of the woman decide to made it alone. We have to give voice to this mothers that suffer this pain alone and try to inform them what the reality of an abortion is

The Pope for Life

John Paul II was beatified on May first of this year. Thousands of people met together in St. Peter’s square to follow the beatifying event; also millions of people followed it through the media.

He was a charismatic leader loved by believers and non-believers alike, whose words were listened to and respected around the whole world.

What made him so interesting? One of the things that he defended during all his live was the respect for human dignity. His messages were so attractive because they were always about human dignity and his testimony was really convincing and authentic. John Paul II was the defender of life, his most important teachings are about the defense of unborn babies, mentally handicapped, and he reminded us that each and every person is unique and unrepeatable, that’s the reason to respect their lives from conception until natural death.

Bloodmoney.

Yesterday I read an article about a Pro life film; Blood Money. The narrator of the history is the Doctor Alveda King (Matin Luther King nephew) she guides the spectator throw the history about the abortion in the EE.UU, since the first public politics about family planning until the actual business situation.

A lot of Viewers tell that the movie is helping to change lives by providing hope for women and offer them a better choice.

Blood Money. The value of a life is a risky bet done by the film director David K. Kyle and presented by the same distributor that few years ago presented Bella film.

So if you want to help with abortion you can show this film for help other women also keep your eyes open, and when you come across a young women in crisis, be there to listen, to support, and then tell her the truth.

Post Abortion Syndrome

Post abortion syndrome is a variant of post traumatic syndrome.

Usually we hear that abortion can be the solution to a problem. Abortion is a violent act against the mother and her child; we can’t accept that because we give reasons to the legislators for approving new abortion laws. We should reflect if it’s good for the mother and if it prevents mother and child’s suffering.

At least 65 % of woman who abort suffer post abortion syndrome, and more than the 75% of them suffer depression and incapacity to maintain emotional relationships. 50 % feel culpability symptoms and they wish they could repair their fault, resulting in nightmares, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia)…

Abortion causes serious damage and underestimates the reality of the human life; it’s the lack of an education without respect for the responsibility and freedom of others.

Businesses Without Morals

Today i was reading an article about an ex-abortionist and I was very impressed the huge amount of money that the abortion clinic employees earn to persuade all the girls to chose abortion the same day as an option for solve their problems.

As I said in my first post, I just have finished an Advertising degree, and one of the objectives of an advertiser is to persuade people, sell them something. This is an admirable and respectful objective because everyone needs to earn money. But this doesn’t mean that this is the one and only most important objective.

What a good professional has to keep in mind above all is ethics and morality. With this in mind, I’m saying that abortion clinics just want to earn money and they don’t care if they are killing people. Performing abortions they show that this business just pursues economic interests and they don’t consider morals at all.

Hi I’m Belen. I’m a Spanish girl that has just finished Advertising and Public Relations. I’m from Barcelona a big city in Spain.

I’m the third of a big family. I have four brothers and two sisters. Since I was a child my parents showed and taught me from their example the importance of life.

In Spain the term life does not raise many followers, but there are many organizations trying to defend the gift of life, helping mothers or looking for possibilities for themselves and their future children.

Last summer when one friend explained me the work that an American organization was doing in New York, I thought that it could be a very enriching experience. So, in June I finished my last year in College and I decided to come to the EMC internship. I just arrived last Monday but I hope that this period in New York I will learn a lot from other people and I'll try to do my best!
