Maternal Mortality

Today we, the interns of EMC, went to a special symposium.  It was titled Policy Making to Reduce Maternal Mortality.  There were great doctors from all around including:

Dr. Elard Koch from Chile
Dr. Eoghan De Faoite from Ireland
Dr. Monique Chireau
Dr. Donna Harrison

They enlightened us on how abortion actually increases the Maternal Mortality rate.  Their powerful words ringing in the room, “As experienced practitioners and researchers in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, we affirm that direct abortion is not medically necessary to save the life of a woman." and "We confirm that the prohibition of abortion does not affect, in any way, the availability of optimal care to pregnant women.”
