I don’t have words to describe my thankfulness for staying here, in EMC, helping women, and also in the Lifehouse.

Thanks to all the people who work here and also those who donate money, with their enthusiasm and effort, this job is done well.

Something that I have in common with this people is the value that we give to life.

I met people from different countries, cultures… and the virtue that impressed me is the importance of fighting for what they believe in.

It will be easy to arrive home and be the same as always but I can’t. If somebody thinks something he should have the guts to make it real.

Thanks to the people who fight for this. I’m really impressed and I want to show my country what I have learned.

Smile

I was really impressed with the cheerful, happy environment that I have seen at the Bronx Lifehouse and EMC Pregnancy Centers.

Some pro-choicers contend that the most important value is freedom. Freedom is a real important value, but freedom on it's own is not enough to make life complete and fulfilled. We pro-lifers understand that freedom as a necessary instrument in order to develop our capacity to love, pursue happiness and serve others.

For many of us it is quite easy to reach this conclusion because we understand God to be a father who loves us. Maybe this view of the world helps us to have this good environment and being more enthusiastic.

The language of love helps us to make this world better and being more enthusiastic. Because of that we can say pro-lifers can more easily reach the hearts of future mothers.

The Price of Freedom

After having been to Washington DC and knowing the figure of the first president of America, I realize that the characters that have left more of an impression are those who have fought for justice and freedom in life.

Throughout the war, there are known characters who had much significance because of the deaths they caused. However, these people are not remembered because their actions did not demonstrate humanity, rather the opposite.

On the other hand, people like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin became very influential because their fights were in order to defend fundamental rights.

The saying: “Freedom its not free” rings true. Even more so when we are speaking about lives.

America Past...and Present

After some time learning and reporting about the history of this country i realize similarities between the conflict of the slaves and the current conflict in abortion.

in the early 1860's when the conflict of the slaves was at its maximum splendor, the defending arguments were mainly based on two reasons: The first reason was that they said that if you do not agree with slavery you cannot impose on others your ideas of non-acceptance. The second reason was that they questioned whether a black person was a real human being.

Nowadays abortion is legalized in de USA. Pro choice adherents defend abortion with the same arguments as the ones I have mentioned above. There are differences between pro choice and pro slavery views; the seconds ones are against some fundamental rights to freedom, on the other hand pro-choice ideas are against the most fundamental right of a human being: The right to life.

Moved with the same ideals as Abraham Lincoln we shall overcome the scourge of abortion.

Following the Fathers of America

In the 16th century a group of people from diverse backgrounds, crossed the Atlantic in order to create a better and free country.

To reach this goal, the Founding Fathers made ​​the Constitution providing for freedom of citizens, democracy, the right to life...

Today America is known as the land of freedom, as one of the world's strongest democracies, but the unborn right to live is not respected.

We seek to make a reality the objectives of the Founding Fathers fighting for life.

learn from the past

This week I have met a girl, she is 37 years old. She came to the center to have her sixth abortion. The other abortions were by surgery and one by pill. She didn’t want to listen to anything about it, or watch the videos.

It took so many tries for us to get her to pay attention to us, and then she said that she was going to think about it and in a few days she would come back and make her choice.

The reason that she wanted to abort was that she couldn’t find a good man for her, a man she could have a good family with. But I don’t really think that it justifies the abortion at all.

I hope she will decide to have her baby.

Generosity

This week I realized that we’re not the only people that we are involved in EMC. The last few days I went with John to collect the baby bottles with donations. We drove to different churches around NYC. They are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and also in North Bronx.

Thanks to all the people who generously donated to EMC. With your help we are able to provide our services to women in crisis pregnancies.

With a little contribution from each person we are able to help many more!

Learning About EMC

I’m Teresa, a Spanish girl. I’m 19 years old. I study bussines in CUNEF, Madrid. I’m the fourth of five children.

This is my first week in NYC, in the Bronx and among all these amazing people who saves lives every day. I’ve learnt a lot not only from those who work here but from the mothers that are facing the hard decsion of whether to carry on with the pregnancy, demonstrating that life is a present given by God.

I think that life is really important. In my family and also at school I’ve learned that.

I like staying in the Lifehouse because we fight for the same cause despite our different cultures, traditions and beliefs.

I hope I will be able to help women who need support.
