Learning to grow...

The past few weeks I have had my own office in Jerome, and it has for sure been something different. I felt a little like a baby bird being pushed out of its nest. Working in all of our offices have for sure taught me so much, it has been and still is very helpful to have Linda or Kathy always there either in the office or the phone. I have learned so much from these women within past few months and I can’t say how thankful I am. I feel as if they are my New York mother’s whenever I need help I know I can count on them. Working in Jerome has taught me so much but the biggest thing it has taught me is that our work is truly God’s work and that we are just instruments of his work. It is never us that changes the girls minds but rather God through us. Thank you lady’s for giving me the push that I needed to be able to do this work and discover truly what it is about!
Little quote: I've often heard when a baby bird is big enough to fly, but she's afraid to try,the mother bird will find a time that's best to give that baby bird a shove, right out of the nest.I'm like that little bird up in a tree.Won't you be a mother bird to me,and push me out of the nest?
Let me try my wings.with a little help from you I think that I can do new things. - Dottie Burman
Thank you both for being my New York mothers.

Mother Know's Best!

The other day I had a girl and her mother come into my office, I normally don't allow the parents to come into the session but this mother insisted on coming in!! So I start talking to her about an abortion, the risks and harms. As I'm talking her mother starts say that everything I'm saying is true. The mother had worked at one of the abortion clinics that we pray outside of. She told her daughter everything about how she had an abortion when she was younger and to this day regrets it!!! It was so amazing to see this mother open up to her daughter like that. When we were done that mother turned to me and said "Thank you, also please say thank you to everyone who prays outside that abortion clinic

Step Up!!!!

I always hate it when I ask the girls that come in “what does your boyfriend/ husband think about your pregnancy” and the typical answer is “It’s up to her” AHHHHHH this is crazy, when woman ask you a question they want a direct answer. What’s with this it’s up to her thing guys?  A woman comes to you at the hardest time in her life where she has the biggest choice she will ever make and she comes to you heartbroken, scared, and worried, and all you can say is “it’s up to you Hun”   This is no time for men to hide and be “polite” if anything this is when a woman truly needs a strong man of God. A man that’s not afraid to protect woman. I saw an example of a young man step up the other day. This girl that came in was so young and her boyfriend came in with her, I sat them both down and started explaining the risks of an abortion and how they are done. The boyfriend just looked at the girl and said “Please don’t do this”. He just sat and talked with her saying how much he loved her and there baby and how she’s going to be an amazing mother. Thank you for stepping up!!!

Stand Up

On Saturday I went to Dr. Emily’s, it was 5 of us girls and the priests for life was also there. How wonderful it was to see these men of God standing outside in 95 degrees weather wearing their full habits, and I don't know if you have ever seen these priest habits but they look very warm. It warmed my heart so much to see how much like Jesus the priest are like. One of the guards was hitting one of the priests with the fence pole and spitting in his face and the priest just took it like Jesus on the cross. Thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a true catholic missionary.

No More Sex

A young woman came to the bronx office this afternoon thinking that she was pregnant. She was shaking with fear and I just wanted to take her into my arms and say "everything is going to  be okay" She came in and took a seat, I told her how much I loved her hair and asked her who did it, she told me her mother did. I asked her about her mother and she just started melting saying how wonderful of a woman she was and how so many people had told her mom to have an abortion with her but she never did. It was so wonderful to see her light up like that, to see the amount of love she had for her mother. I started talking to her about how beautiful she was and how she was a gift , and every time that she had sex she was giving a little of that gift away. As I was talking to her I could see her eyes light up and a thirst for knowledge like she wanted to know so much more about chastity. We did her pregnancy test and it came out negative and she say to me in a loud voice "I will NEVER have sex again until I am married"

Be Faithful in Small Things...

I know when at first we hear the word ” down syndrome ” we think WOW that’s so hard to have to deal with that ! I disagree working with Katherine has been such  a wonderful gift God has given me these past months. I think it made me see life from a whole knew point of view, its not the big things in life that matter but rather the small things. I think there is a quote that goes something like this ” anyone who ever did anything big started out small”children with down syndrome simply look at life through the “Small things” Like being able to say the word oval!!! or to throw a ball straight. We often forget to stop and look at those wonderful small things, like being able to pick up a cup of water and drink it without any hassle, or taking the lid off of something.
So the little girl has taught me so much but most of all its to be thankful for the small things in life !

Hello! My name is Roseline Moroney . I come from Calgary, Alberta Canada. I was adopted when I was 7 from Haiti into my amazing family. I come from a big catholic family of ten. enjoy cooking, singing, dancing and traveling!!!

At a young age I was able to start my journey in the pro-life movement; having been given up for adoption very young I could never understand why? Why God allowed that to happen? I remember feeling as if my life was basically over. Little did I know that my mother made the greatest act of love, she chose life!

With life we learn so many lessons but the greatest lesson that I have learned is that of a mother’s true love for a child, to be able to choose life for it. No matter where we are in life, no matter what stage we are in , we must remember our mothers love for us !!! Someone once said “I don’t want your sympathy, but rather your muscles” This summer I have taken these words into my actions. I am glad to be able to work with EMC and counsel these young mothers. I am thankful that my mother chose life for me and I can only hope and pray that I will be able to help these young women choose life for their babies.
