Thank God

I’m writing this text from my house, near Barcelona. I have spent the last hours doing balance about my experience of working for EMC, and I only can say that it has been awesome.

I thank God about this experience, I thank God for all the amazing counselers that I have met like Linda, Liz or Carmen, I thank God for all the incredible interns I have known, I thank God that He has used me like his brush to save some babies, I thank God about all the knowledge I’ve received. I also pray in order God show me the way to continue serving Him and to finish with the abortion. Amen.

TRUTH MAKES YOU FREE

This week I've been at Jerome Street. As you know in Jerome Street we explain to people what abortion consist of, the development of the baby in the womb, and the consequences and effects of abortion.

On Wednesday I talked with a woman who's going to have an abortion. After two hours in the abortion clinic she decided not to have an abortion because of the insane environment; the smell of death and the inhuman treatment that mothers received in this critical movement. This women got more angry with the abortion clinic after she discovered about the risks and the real development of the babies in the womb. Nobody, including the doctors of the abortion clinics, has told her before about it.

She said that we should go to the high schools to explain that, because it's knowing all this information that mothers can make a proper decision with her babies, which means life.

Hugh Hefner and abortion

In 1973 a court made a decisión that has changed the live of a lot of babies. This trial involves parts prolifers and proabortion.

A few days ago I discovered that one of the most important doners of the proabortion lawyers was Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy. My question is: Why a man whose image of women consist of them being sexual objects without more ambitions than becoming the sexiest one, wanted to help pregnant mothers? Is the point of view of Hugh Hefner about sexuality and women the best way to help pregnant mothers?

For a lot of years proabortion have being saying that abortion is a gun for helping mothers. I’m tired of listening arguments like this when you see the mothers that have had an abortion crying. I’m tired listening arguments like that when one of the men who’s less interested in woman rights and says it.

Pro-Choice?

Last week while I was in Emily’s I saw a situation that really impressed me in a bad way. I saw a pregnant mother who was walking in front of the door of Emily’s house when pro-choice told her they were sorry because of her pregnancy; and then she invited her to have an abortion what she refused.

I was really surprised. Prochoice understand having a baby as a tragedy and a huge problem difficult to solve. Prochoice don’t understand babies as a gift of God and a cause of happiness; otherwise they feel depressed when a mother choose life for her baby. The thing is: Do really pro-choice defense both options? I say no, don’t fool me, what they really want is abortion, that’s why from now on I will not talk about pro-choice I will only talk about pro-abortion.

When she does counseling

There’s an intern in the house who’s shy, quiet and quite closed. She doesn’t like to discuss or being in hurries. Last week I was, for first time, doing counseling with her at the Bronx Center.

At the beginning I was the one who was really talking, but as soon as it seems that the mother really wanted to have an abortion the intern began to talk. My colleague begins to talk about the mother’s family, God, values… I don’t know if that mother will have an abortion but I am sure that this intern really has removed her mind.

What really impressed me about this intern is that she really was conscious about that what that mother had inside was a baby; it’s this feeling and knowledge that it helps you to take profit of all your resources in order to safe a life.

Are you a real pro-choice?

Pro-abortion people called themselves Pro-choice. The reason why they called themselves pro-choice is because according to what they say, they want women to be able to choose between abortion and no abortion. We can say that in order to choose the best option what mothers need is as much information as possible, (like the possibilities of having breast cancer, cervical cancer or depression). When we, prolifers, go to Dr. Emily Women's Health Center we try to inform the mothers about the dangers of the abortion, while pro-abortion people try to a prevent us from doing so.

The point is: Is a real choice a choice that you make without having enough information? Can you define yourself as pro-choice while you try to hide information from that mother?

The evolution of the volunteers

Two days ago I went to Emily’s. At Emily’s there are a contrast of volunteers, on one hand we have prolife volunteers, and on the other hand we have pro-choice volunteers. The first ones are outside of the abortion clinic, the second ones are on the border-line of the abortion clinic. The prolifers try to convince the mothers who keep their babies, the proaborts just want us to shut up.

Pro-choice volunteers are a group of people that appeared after the decision of Roe v. Wade to keep prolifers from talking with the mothers who wanted an abortion. They used to be a group of women with feminist ideas. The ones we see at Emily’s are the same women, now they are older and fewer.

The other kinds of volunteers are the prolifers. They used to be young people who believed that inside the mother is a real human being. Nowadays the younger generation are still involved and growing.

So, in conclusion, we see that the pro-choice message is becoming older and less supported while on the other hand prolifers are still young and becoming more supported.

Reactions:

Today I saw the reactions of some who are pro-choice when you show that you are pro-life. I also have been seeing the reactions of my fellow interns at the Life House when somebody tries to have an abortion or shows that he is pro-choice.

When pro-choicers try to talk with us they shout and insult us, they treat us as ignorant and they act as if we are pro-life only to annoy people. In the other hand when somebody wants an abortions or she explains to us that she is a pro-choice I see my friends offering her the best of their smiles, they try to help them with love and respect and in some cases lots of them pray for these who are pro-choice.

As a conclusion I would say that pro-lifers are happier than those who are pro-choice, that our motivation is life as opposed to death; we should know that we are the ones with truth on our side in this movie and we'll be victorious.

Land of Hope

This week I have learned a lot about American History. I've discovered that the United States of America began with a little English seetlment in Jamestown and I have seen how the country achieved his freedom and the freedom of her citizens with the Civil and the Revolutionary War. If there is something that we can learn about American history is that it is a land of hope and freedom.

We, prolifers, have to show people the values of this country, because if there's something that can motivate you to allow your own son to be killed it's desesparation. We have to teach people that they are in the land of the opportunities, that America is bound to give to her people and his future children hope and opportunities.

Road to Nueva York

My name is Ignasi Grau and I’m 20 years old. I’m from Barcelona where I study Law in the UPF, a Catalan colleague. This summer I decided to take part in the EMC program in order to make this world a better place.

Before that I spend a summer in Africa helping in a Charity center of Mother Teresa. This summer I decided to come to New York, the abortion capital city in the USA, in order to showing people the people that abortion is against fundamental rights and human dignity.
