Valentino!

At the bronx office!

Great news!

Today I had a wonderful experience in the office of the Bronx where I don't use to go frequently.
I had one counceling and has been almost a turn around.
She is a woman who doesn't want to keep the baby because  if she was pregnant she would have to work under very hard conditions.I was explaining to her that she could find another job and that we could help her to have it another one.She would thinking about it.

In front of the Whitehouse

Last friday we participated in a prolife's demonstration in front of the whitehouse. It was the day when Obama's healthcare reform is going to be accepted. We stayed during a half an hour praying and showing prolife's sentences with signs. It's time to stand up for freedoom, everyone has the right to live, we have to show the truth and move on with the movement.

Even we were few people defending this principle,I was thankful because tourists who were crossing and visiting the whitehouse could at least see that some people think that life is worthy and it must be defended. We must speak for these babies that none cares because they are still not outside

Prayer to God the Father of All Life

Prayer to God the Father of All Life

Eternal God, You have revealed Yourself as the Father of all Life. We praise You for the Fatherly care which You extend to all creation, and especially to us, made in Your image and likeness.
Father, extend Your hand of protection to those threatened by abortion, and save them from its destructive power. Give Your strength to all fathers, that they may never give in to the fears that may tempt them to facilitate abortions.
Bless our families and bless our land, that we may have the joy of welcoming and nurturing the life of which You are the source and the Eternal Father. Amen.

Holocaust Memorial Museum

Last week we had the opportunity to visit the holocaust museum in Washington. It was a very great experience in which we realise the bad treatment, injustices ,discrimination and torture jewish people received. We could hear the judgment at Nuremberg,we saw many Hitler's speeches, the uniforms they wore, etc. We also learned of the Nazi ideology related to the Aryan race and its ideals.
Indeed it was a great visit which you left being more empathethic, having more compassion and praying for all the victims.
Not far from this,we can compare with the victims of abortion. Both of them are helpless and defenseless against oppresion.

Yorktown

Priests for Life

This thursday we attended to a talk from the father Frank from Priests for Life in Staten Island. He explains to us the work they do and we start an interactive talk in which he gave us advices to put into practice when the girls come to the offices.
We visit the place and we had the opportunity to pick some panflets and books from pro-life stuff.I think this material is going to be very useful in our daily work as we can be more prepared to listen and be comprehensive to the girls.Another interesting book I found was "God answers",it explains you about  how God can respond to your prayers and can help into your life.
In fact, this internship here makes you to be closer to God.You  realise that He really acts in your life. These experiences makes your eyes open to God and faith!

There is hope

This week had a very busy day in the office. It was just three of us and many of the girls  came in.It was very stressful because most of the girls I council were leaning toward abortion.By the end of the day,I was exhausted and felt a bit hopeless.Days like these was really hard because you feel as if you've somehow let these girls down. However after contacting them a few days later are now parentings .These small successes helped me to realise that it is important not to give up hope, but persevere even when the work seems too much.

Welcome to Virginia!

Taking a short break from work, we are staying in Virginia this week, a state which holds much of America's interesting history. We have visited many battle fields and museums which explained the difficult circunstances in which people survived years ago.I was intrigued by the stories  about how the soldiers as young as 15 to fight in a battle. It has been a great learning experience, witnessing the actual places where all this happened.

Pieces of happiness

During a workday you can have good news o vice versa.Today has been  too many
"no"" or "don't care"  at the office but  in the ending in I had a great afternoon. At 4 pm I received a women that desires to be a mother again, even two babies would like inside.Although she was negative I was impressed by the courage she would have if she had been pregnant. She doesn't care if her husband doesn't agree with keeping a child, she would raise up him leaving from home if it was necessary.Despite she wasn't positive I ended the day with a good feeling. Each day you can pick pieces of happiness hearing other people stories.

Don't stop me now!

Last week I had a very exciting day. I was doing counselling with a girl who wanted to be a parent but she was also undecided because of her father's reactions. She feared he would kick her out of the house. Fortunately after having a sonogram she realised she wanted to keep the baby. In the sonogram her baby which was only 11 weeks was waving and trying to move his body as much as he could, as if saying "Here I am, don't stop me now! I'm really here and having a great time!"

I have two brothers and one little sister who is now 7.I am studying in San Sebastian in the University of Navarra.I planned to enjoy prolife organization in New York because I thought it would be a great experience helping people to save their babies lives and would be the best way to spend my free time.I realized that this was an opportunity that comes to me and I could not ignore it.Trying to help pregnant mothers and learning English in an important city as New York I thought could be a very great experience.
